A planning consultancy is redoubling its focus on the commercial market on the back of a continuing improvement in the residential sector.

Hunter Page Planning, based in Cheltenham and Swindon, is focusing on the M4 corridor and is expanding the capabilities of its Swindon base.

Director Giles Brockbank told Planning: “We are starting to pick up more commercial work; there seems to be a lot more now than in the last two years.

“The improving economy is driving the growth: residential elements always come first with the commercial projects tending to follow closely behind.

“Everyone has been sitting on their hands waiting for economic recovery and now they have more confidence they are standing up and dipping their toes into the water.”

He said: “We are expanding our Swindon office because we are getting a lot more work along the M4 corridor and into the south east, and that will help grow the business.”

Hunter Page Planning aims to recruit a graduate planner or planner to help submit applications and appeals, undertake site appraisals for clients and help senior planners.
