A planning consultancy in the north west is expanding to meet more demand across sectors including housing and heritage.

Johnson Brook has recruited Luke Herring from Rotherham Borough Council to be a graduate planner. He has more than seven years of experience in local authority planning.

Herring gained an MSc in urban and regional planning through part-time study at Sheffield Hallam University earlier this year.

Managing director Mark Johnson told Planning: “Luke will tackle a varied scale and nature of work within the private sector.

“Our practice continues to expand planning activities across the UK. In recent months we have seen strong growth in the heritage market and want to make a senior appointment in this area.”
