Andrew Clark Mid Sussex District Council

Mid Sussex District Council has promoted from within to fill the role of senior planning officer for planning enforcement.

Andrew Clarke has moved to the role from his previous position as planning officer leading on community infrastructure and economic development.

Clarke will take on responsibilities for investigation of breaches of planning control, enforcement and prosecutions.

He told Planning: “Enforcement is an area I have always enjoyed. I have worked in development management for some time and am looking forward to developing my career in this new role.”

Clarke has worked at the council for 10 years. He completed a masters in planning policy and practice from South Bank University in 2006 after being allowed to complete the course on day release.

His original degree was in geography from Swansea University.

In addition to his enforcement duties, Clarke will be responsible for providing pre-application advice, negotiation and consideration of planning applications and planning appeals.
