Property firm Berrys has appointed Helen Howie as a planning consultant.
Howie joins the company from Shropshire Council, where she was principal planning officer in the housing and planning policy.
Howie worked on one of the first Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) charging schedules to be introduced England.
Shropshire’s CIL charging schedule came into effect in January 2012. At the time, it was only the second schedule to have been introduced, with Newark and Sherwood District Council’s having come into effect the previous month.
Before joining Shropshire, Howie was a senior planning officer at Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council, prior to which she worked as a planning officer at South Ribble Borough Council.
Howie started her career as a forward planner at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
