Julie HunterA leading social enterprise and charity has appointed a new land and planning manager to identify opportunities for development.

Home Group, which provides housing and supported housing services, has recruited Julie Hunter, who previously held various planning roles at Barratt Homes and Bilfinger GVA.

The town planner brings over 12 years’ experience in residential planning management and consultancy.

Hunter will work nationally to identify and promote major land opportunities through the planning system.

She will help the group focus on delivering 1,800 private sale and affordable homes each year across the UK.

“This is an exciting time to be joining Home Group,” Hunter told Planning.

“The organisation is looking at growing its private residential sales activity. I will be closely involved in supporting this and working alongside our national team.”

Home Group has a turnover of £327m and provides housing and supported housing services targeted at vulnerable people.

The social enterprise houses more than 120,000 people a year in 55,000 homes across 200 local authority areas in England, Scotland and Wales.

One of Hunter's main roles is to offer strategic planning input to the company's development teams, advising on large and longer term schemes.

She will provide strategic and policy planning advice, look at how best to deliver sites through the planning system and identify potential issues in pre and post-acquisition.
