Brooksbank takes planning engagement role

Simon Brooksbank, ChelgatePlanner Simon Brooksbank has made the move into public relations, joining specialist planning firm Chelgate Local.

Brooksbank joins the firm from Boyer Planning, where he worked on strategic housing applications in London and the South East.

His new role will see him providing strategic advice to clients in the development industry.

Liam Herbert, Chelgate chief executive said that Brooksbank’s knowledge of planning policy and his contacts in the sector would help the firm provide better advice.

Brooksbank said the move would help him combine his knowledge of and interest in politics and planning.

He is also co-founder of Planning Out, the LGBT planning network which was launched last year.

At Boyer, he also served as chair of the Thames Valley Young Planners, and a master’s in development planning from Reading University.
