Brooke appointed to lead economics planning team at Savills

Rory Brooke at SavillsRory Brooke has joined the planning team at property consultancy Savills as head of economics.

Brooke, a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, has joined the firm from rival consultancy AECOM, where he was head of economics and development.

His new role will involve leading a new Savills team providing advice to clients on planning and economics.

Brooke has worked to assess the socio-economic impacts of schemes including High Speed 2 for High Speed 2 Ltd, of Crossrail 2 for Transport for London, Battersea Power Station, Tate Modern, the Thames Tideway Tunnel, and Heathrow Hub.

His new role will include establishing economic cases for similar projects in future, seeking to influence emerging national and local planning policy, and developing areas of research.

Brooke has also worked as a senior economist at consultancy Arup and as a senior development planner at GVA.

He has a master’s degree in town planning from the University of Wales and a bachelor’s in mathematics and economics from University of York.
