Property company British Land has boosted its residential team with the appointment of Emma Cariaga as its residential director.

Cariaga was previously development director, London portfolio at the UK's largest property company, Land Securities.

At Land Securities Cariaga was responsible for delivering large-scale, residentially led mixed-use projects in London, Kent and the East of England including Land Securities' scheme for Ebbsfleet.

British Land has five members of its residential team and a £664m housebuilding programme mainly as part of mixed-use schemes in London.

Last year she was ranked by Planning as one of the 100 most influential people in the field.

Cariaga also sits on property lobby group the British Property Federation's planning committee and research and education organisation the Urban Land Institute’s residential council.
