BristolA planning restructure at Bristol City Council has resulted in plans to expand the service.

Head of development management Gary Collins told Planning: “We used to have have area teams and now we will have teams looking at areas such as major developments, housing delivery and the city centre Temple Meads enterprise zone.”

The council is looking to recruit two team managers in development management. The new postholders would take the development management team up to 28 planners.

“The two posts will each lead one half of the council's development management service,” said Collins.

“The posts will implement the recent service re-design focusing on types of planning applications rather than the conventional area-based approach.”
