The London Borough of Brent is expanding its planning team to help progress regeneration work across the borough.

The council is currently recruiting for a planning policy and projects manager, a planning officer (enforcement) and a planning officer.

Stephen Weeks, head of planning at Brent, told Planning that the council has reshaped its planning and development service in order to tackle the increased demand for new homes and investment in the area.

“We have also taken the opportunity to co-ordinate our work to focus regeneration in areas where we are promoting major change - including around Wembley where our award winning Civic Centre is located,” he added.

“This sees an increase in the number of planners in our two larger area planning teams with responsibility for all development management including major schemes and community engagement.”

Weeks added that the council has also re-defined its planning policy and projects team, which will be led by a new manager.

He said: “This new team is charged with all planning policy and projects work and is an important role managing a strong team in the all aspects of planning policy, supporting significant strategic development project work and corporate projects.”
