Braintree town centreBraintree District Council is looking to expand its development management team to take on increasing amounts of applications for commercial and residential developments.

Development manager Tessa Lambert told Planning that Braintree was "seeing a step change in levels of development and needs to build on our existing planning team.”

The local authority is looking to recruit a new planner. The development management team is split into two area teams, each currently with five planners.

“The new postholder may take on a sweeper role, picking up applications in both areas depending on where there is greatest need,” said Lambert.
