London-based consultancy eyes expansion

Planning consultancy Firstplan is seeking to expand in response to rising workloads. 

Director Michael Mills (pictured) told Planning: “Our workload has expanded across all development sectors over the last six months and we are looking to grow the practice."

Firstplan, based in Bermondsey, south London, currently has 18 planners.

The firm is looking to recruit planners and/or assistant planners to work on all aspects of planning including applications, appeals, surveys and preparing heritage and retail or economic assessments.

“This is it is an expansion but we haven’t fully decided whether it will be two [appointments] - one at each level. They will work with clients across the UK."

Clients currently include landowners, developers, investors, house builders, retailers and restaurant, bar and leisure, Mills said.
