Berrys appoints planning head for East Midlands
Property consultancy Berrys has appointed a new head of planning services covering the East Midlands region.
Ian Smith joins the team’s Kettering office, but will also oversee planning work being carried out in the Towcester branch.
Chartered town planner Smith joins Berrys after 12 years working in the Peterborough office of consultancy Smiths Gore, where he covered planning work in the Midlands and East of England.
Smith has experience in residential, commercial, recreational and rural projects and also the promotion of planning applications through the development plan system.
He has worked on major urban extensions in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Northamptonshire and employment schemes in Warwickshire.
Stuart Thomas, national planning partner at Berrys, said the appointment took the number of planners across the firm’s five offices to 12 in total.
