Berkshire authority recruits principal planning officer

Wokingham Borough Council has recruited Laura Callan to be a principal planning officer.

Callan joined last month from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Team manager for development management Andrew Chugg told Planning: “Laura is working in development management to help deliver good, planned development but preserve the quality of the built and natural environment."

He said the local authority had a lot of potentially large housing sites coming forward, with a need to build up to 10,000 houses.
