A Nottinghamshire council is expanding its planning team to help it address development pressures as it prepares its new local plan.

Bassetlaw District Council is in the process of drawing up the new Bassetlaw Plan.

According to the authority, the borough currently has “a lot of development presently underway” and a “plethora” of projects planned for the future.

To help it meet rising workloads arising from this, the council is looking to recruit several new planning staff, including a planning development manager, a major projects manager and a local plan coordinator.

According to the council, its planning team currently has around 20 professional and support staff.
