Adrian Barker has joined development consultancy Peter Brett Associates as director of planning at its newly-founded Winchester office.

Barker joins the firm from Terence O’Rourke in Bournemouth where he served as technical director managing projects including the redevelopment of Whiteley town centre.

He will run the PBA planning function in Winchester, which will seek to win new business in the area.

Partner Anthony Russell said: “The new office will put us right at the heart of development activities within the region, including the enormous potential for the Solent generated by the Southampton and Portsmouth City Deal.”

Prior to his time at Terence O’Rourke, Barker worked at consultancies Turley Associates and the Tyler Parkes Partnership.

He started his planning career at Wellingborough Borough Council where he rose to become senior development control officer.

He gained a bachelor’s degree in town and country planning from the University of the West of England.
