Preston Bennett officeA property consultant focusing on work from medium-sized housebuilders is strengthening its planning focus to meet rocketing demand.

Preston Bennett planning and land director Richard Henley told Planning: "Workloads have jumped in the last six to eight months. The market is going crazy and there's a lot of confidence.

"Even during the recession people were keen to secure planning, knowing that as time goes by, the process becomes harder and harder and the information required becomes more complex."

Last January Preston Bennet, based in Stanmore, was acquired by Hamptons International to become a professional services division offering planning to the estate agency.

Henley said: "Our clients are mostly medium-sized housebuilders offering anything from 50 to about 300 units. They want good planning advice without necessarily going to West London to get it".

The firm is looking to recruit a senior town planner to join its expanding planning and development department.

"We've opened a second office, in Beaconsfield. This job offers an opportunity to work your way up and be your own boss in a growing department.

"The role offers a fast-track career progression to branch planning manager. The postholder will manage their own projects and work with the businesses's land and new homes department."
