As a result. they currently have several great opportunities within their Planning Team at various levels which will help ensure the delivery of a high, quality service to support communities and improve lives.
Your New Role
A full time or part time role, offering flexible hours and remote working.
They are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Principal Planning Officer to work within the Development Management team who will be the lead officer on a range of major pre-application enquiries and planning applications in both residential and commercial development, positively influencing and taking forward development proposals in line with the Corporate Plan vision for a sustainable, thriving and healthy Borough
This a stimulating and varied role and will also involve:
Negotiating improvements and securing a varied and extensive package of measures the through S106 Agreements; leading on presentations to the planning committee and councillor briefings; defending the council’s decision at appeal; mentoring and managing the development of senior and planning officers and contributing to the delivery of the Council’s Housing Delivery programme and the excellent performance standards.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Ideally a chartered Planner, the work will require you to possess strong political awareness, be a persuasive, customer focused and clear communicator who is able to work with a range of partners and agencies to achieve the best outcomes for the residents and the businesses of the Borough.
