The Opportunity

This Planning Strategy & Implementation Manager is a key role within the organisation and provides support to the Head of Planning. The main focus of the role will be being responsible for all aspects of the Planning Strategy and Implementation Team. This includes delivering a new Local Plan (and supplementary planning documents) alongside the work of the Association of South Essex Authorities and the Essex 2050 Plan (and other workstreams from these projects).

The Planning Strategy and Implementation Team at Basildon Borough Council are commencing a new Local Plan providing the opportunity to look at the Borough afresh and encourage growth and implement new ideas and policies encouraging cross council, stakeholder and citizen involvement. This position provides a great opportunity for you to raise your profile and quickly enhance your personal development by leading on this key corporate project and providing your extensive experience to support to the Head of Planning.

What you need to succeed?

  • A degree or equivalent in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Membership of the RTPI or RICS or eligibility to apply for chartered membership of either the RTPI or RICS.
