LB Havering Infrastructure Planning Team

Do you want to be part of something new and exciting?

The London Borough of Havering is recruiting to a brand new Infrastructure Planning Team. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people, to fill three key posts within our Planning Department.

Team Leader – Infrastructure Planning

About The Role

In this leadership role, you will have the autonomy to develop the Infrastructure Planning team from its inception. You will be working alongside and supporting the Head of Service to deliver the best possible outcomes for residents, visitors and investors, as well as managing your team’s delivery and performance day-to-day.

You will be responsible for fostering and maintaining key relationships, to ensure the delivery of high-profile projects and programmes.

To be successful in this role, you will have several years’ experience in managing large projects and/or programmes, preferably within a planning department (public or private sector). You will need a thorough understanding of planning legislation, the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), S106 Agreements and related processes.

We are keen to grow individuals with ambition, but you will require demonstrable experience of the day-to-day supervision of staff, whether through line management or mentoring.

You will already have, or be eligible for, RPTI/RICS accreditation.

About Us

Over the next few years we will be embarking upon a regeneration journey that will transform our borough, connect our towns and bring opportunities for all.

Although we are the third largest borough in London, Havering is not as well-known as some of its neighbours in London and the London Thames Gateway. We are changing that.

With so much new development planned in the London Thames Gateway area to the south of the borough and in Romford Town Centre, plus a brand new Crossrail station – there is a lot to do.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of managing the funding and delivery of nearly £600m of infrastructure projects and programmes, shaping the future of the borough.

To invest in our borough, we know we also need to invest in our people. We’re looking for ambitious individuals who want to grow and develop their careers. In return, we offer great support and training to get you settled into your role, fantastic benefits and we also encourage flexible working.

Our offices are a short walk from Romford station and easily reachable by bus. We’re close to the M25 and offer discounted car parking for staff. We’re an open plan, friendly office with a great atmosphere.

Our people are as much part of our journey as the work we’re doing – together Havering is going places.

If you think you could be part of this new and exciting team, make your application by the closing date of 29th June.

Interviews to take place in July.
