#NEW OFFICE OPPORTUNITY - NATIONAL CONSULTANCY - JOIN AN EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP TEAM#
Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be working with one of the UK's leading property consultancies on the hire of an Associate Planner to their new Brighton office, based centrally.
The successful candidate will become an integral project manager and lead on relevant applications and promotions, supporting senior colleagues on new business opportunities and key projects.
The southeast team comprises 15 fee earners which provide planning consultancy across Surrey, Kent, and Sussex. It is a busy, fast-paced department that is a market leader in its field.
With extensive contact with clients and colleagues within the companies wider network, the successful candidate will be a good team player, with strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise work and multi-task.
In this role your primary objectives will be;
-Assist Directors and Associate Directors in driving key projects forward
-The opportunity to win new instructions, alongside servicing existing instructions
-Project Management of complex planning instructions
-Supervision of junior colleagues and the potential for a mentor role
-Prepare planning reports and planning applications including planning statements
-Manage planning applications including liaison with planning officers
-Manage site promotions including liaison with relevant local plans teams
-Participate in any relevant planning appeal
-Participate in any relevant local plan Examination in Public
In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
-Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills
-Work to deadlines
-Team player
-Positive attitude
-Good motivation skills
-MRTPI or MRICS (with relevant planning experience)
-Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Salary and excel
