We are looking for a talented and experienced Planner and Project Manager to lead the work of Regeneration and Place in relation to the Somers Town CIP. The ability to understand planning policy and apply it on an area wide and site specific basis is essential and an interest in urban design desirable. This is an opportunity to significantly influence positive change in a Borough that demands and delivers some of the best new development in the country.

The role will also involve the coordination of and support for a number of interrelated projects. The post holder will also be responsible for providing planning advice and support for other projects within the team, which includes the production of area based strategies and frameworks and providing site / area specific planning advice on a consultancy basis to other Council services and external partners. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual.

This role requires someone who has a track-record of working on area-wide regeneration and planning projects. It is essential that you have a planning or related qualification at degree level or above. A project management qualification and experience of working in a London Borough is also desirable but not essential. You will have excellent communication skills as you will work with a range of stakeholders and build strong relationships.

In return, you can expect a great range of benefits including a fantastic pension scheme and flexible working. We also recognise and reward high performance, and salary progression is based on individual performance.
