I am currently working with a Local Authority based in the East Midlands Region the Local Authority is currently going through a very busy period and therefore need contractors on an initial 4-month contract, with the view to extend past the Christmas period.

Planning Officer

The ideal candidate for this position will have 3 + years’ experience with Town Planning mainly on the Development Management side. The position will mainly be working on minor applications from 1-30 dwellings (Domestic) – additionally the chosen candidate will have a Masters within Town Planning of a related subject.

The client is looking to pay between £23-£28, however for the right candidate this rate could be negotiable.

Planning Policy Officer

For this position the ideal candidate will have 3 + years within Planning Policy or Development Management as well as a Master within Town Planning. The role will mainly entail Local Plan based work, the council is currently looking at main modifications and finalising reports following the examination period of the Local Plan. Ideally a candidate with experience within SPDs (Supplementary Planning Documents) and helping with policy writing.

The client is looking to pay between £23-£28, however for the right candidate this rate could be negotiable.

S106 & CIL

For this role the client is looking for someone to help with calculating and collecting the CIL, the ideal candidate will have a strong planning background as well as Master in Town Planning. The local authority does not currently use an operating system for calculating and storing CIL/S106 information, however the ideal candidate will play key role in getting the LPA to the stage of transferring date on to an online system. Due to the nature of this work, the client is looking for someone to work for 3 days per week between 25-30 hours.

The client is looking to pay between £30-35, however for the right candidate this rate could be negotiable.

All roles are for an initial 4-month contract, with the view to extend depending on the performance of the candidate – additionally the client has said that they can accommodate remote work for up to 2/3 days per week.
