An exciting opportunity for an Associate Sustainability Consultant with experience in Planning and development has arisen at a highly regarded multi-disciplinary consultancy in London.

Summary

My client has an enviable reputation in providing responsible development ,investment and sustainability advice to the London real estate market. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a successful sustainability team and to assist in developing and implementing sustainability strategies for large London focused developers. Project work will include large urban redevelopments and major developments across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years' experience working in a similar consultancy role. Experience in BREEAM, management, bid writing, presentation and fee negotiation with key clients is essential. You will be expected to regularly attend industry networking events, keep up to date with emerging trends and best practice in the sustainability field, whilst identifying new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

* Management of the commercial and residential sustainability team
* Lead on bid writing, presentation and fee negotiation with key clients
* Responsibility for completion of all sustainability assessments
* Driving increased productivity and efficiency.
* Determining the appropriate sustainability strategy for a range of mixed use developments.
* Facilitation of client workshops and facilitation of project progress, specifically with non-technical project staff.
* Communicate the requirements and implications of sustainability to the design team including developers, project managers, architects and contractors
* Financial management of the commercial agreements and billing for all sustainability work to drive increased profitability.

Capabilities and Qualifications:

* Degree and/or masters in sustainability / environmental-related topic
* Licensed BREEAM assessor with track record of experience in majority of sectors;
* Experience of delivering Carbon and Energy related services such as embodied carbon assessments, carbon foot printing etc.;
* Qualified CEEQUAL Assessor (desirable but not essential); and
* Be willing to be involved and add value to other integrated services including waste management, energy and carbon management, corporate social responsibility, environmental assessment, environmental management and due diligence.
* Ideally Chartered Environmentalist or equivalent
* BREEAM Assessor / Accredited Professional
* Significant sustainability and environmental consultancy experience;
* Business development: promotion, marketing and bid preparation, attending and leading client meetings
