Be where it all happens

In a vibrant, 24/7 city like ours, planning is a major challenge. After all, this is one of the world’s most complex urban environments – and one of the country’s busiest Planning Departments. If you want to gain experience in the heart of central London, read on to discover a planning role that’s unlike any other.

You will play a big part in development control, dealing with planning applications, appeals and pre-application requests. But that’s not all. You’ll be shaping a landscape that includes the highest number of historic buildings in the country. Welcoming 55 million tourists a year. And making a difference to the daily lives of a hugely diverse residential population.

In our area, you’ll find a rich mix of neighbourhoods and exciting regeneration projects. With 11,000 listed buildings and 55 conservation areas, there is no shortage of pressure when it comes to commercial and residential development. That’s why we need a confident professional – someone who is s ready to deal with architects, the public and developer’s’ agents.

Specifically, you will:

  • Provide technical planning services under supervision
  • Tackle a varied caseload of interesting applications
  • Work with high-profile applicants and architects
  • Deal with pre-application enquiries and appeals.

All this calls for a degree (or equivalent) in Town Planning and knowledge of planning law. Experience would be ideal, but we will provide on the job training. But above all, you need to be great in a team and always ready to learn. If you can solve problems and help us provide a first-class planning service, there could be a place for you at the heart of a ‘City for All’.

Join us and be where it all happens.
