Senior Development Management Officer


Carrington West’s dedicated Town and Country Planning Recruitment Team operate UK wide and we are delighted to be assisting our client with their search for a Permanent Senior Development Control Officer to join our client in East Anglia.


The Role
Working under the Head of Development Management, the Senior Development Management Planner will help to support the delivery of a high quality, effective, efficient and customer focused service.
Duties
·To manage a varied caseload of varied applications to include large major applications
·To attend thePlanningCommittee and present applications as required
·To provide professional advice on planning matters to clients, the public, Members of the Council, and others as necessary
·To provide guidance to technical staff in the delivery of the development management service
·To negotiate with applicants and agents to obtain quality outcomes within the time constraints set out in the business's contractual arrangements
·Provide support to the Enforcement team and thePlanningPolicy team
·Prepare appeals in relation to planning and enforcement matters. Attend and provide expert evidence at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries as necessary
·To attend public meetings
·To keep up to date with current legislation and policy changes
·To contribute to consultancy projects for the business

Experience
·Significant experience in development management working within a busy team environment delivering a range of planning applications and appeal casework preferably within a Local Authority
·A degree qualification in Town and Country Planning or equivalent experience
·Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute
·A thorough knowledge of current legislation relating to planning and enforcement matters
·Significant experience in dealing with major planning applications and legal agreements
·Experience of acting as expert witness at Planning Inquiries and Hearings


Salary – Up To £40,000 p/a DOE
