Planning Enforcement Officer
In this role you will manage a case load of planning enforcement investigations within a busy Local Authority based in Essex. They will likely be focused on residential properties but may also include commercial premises. As a Planning Enforcement Officer your fundamental role will be to carry out site visits and investigate potential planning control breaches. You will be required to record evidence and detailed information in a precise format as it may be required should a case progress to prosecution.
To carry out this role it is absolutely essential you have worked within a similar capacity within a local authority setting. You will need a good working knowledge of planning legislation and current planning and enforcement issues. As you will be largely working under your own initiative you will need to be disciplined in your approach to work and you will need to be able to manage work within agreed timeframes. You must hold a degree or be close to completion of a post graduate diploma in Town and Country Planning or equivalent.
The role is based with a client in Essex and has initally been released as a 3 month contract. The rate will depend upon your level of experience within a Local Authority Planning Department, this role has been released with a rate between £25 - £35 p/hr.
