Planning Enforcement Project Manager


Are you a planning Enforcement officer, as I am looking to recruit for a North East London Borough is currently looking to recruit for a Planning Enforcement Project Manager for initial 3 month contract view to extend.

The suitable candidate would need to have a good working knowledge of the UK planning Enforcement. The case load of work is varied as there would be large case load of existing applications and some back log as part of the contract. The office can be access by both private and public transport and has excellent links form central London.

The successful candidate would be dealing with a wide range of planning enforcement investigations specifically drawn to our attention through the Private Rented Property Licensing Team :
  • The Council's Housing service is under increasing demand to provide good quality accommodation.
  • The recent introduction of the private rented licensing scheme means that every privately rented home in the borough must apply for a private rented property license.
  • The client requires a candidate who is experienced in investigating breaches of planning legislation, who is motivated and enthusiastic to join our Planning Enforcement Team.
  • Essentially this will involve the reactive and pro-active enforcing of breaches of planning control including unauthorised developments, flat conversions, beds in sheds and unauthorised changes of use and any subsequent appeals.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing all the cases specifically referred to us by the Private Rented Property Licensing Team, investigating them and taking appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • The successful candidate will have worked in planning/planning enforcement within a Local Authority and will have an in-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation and planning rules.
  • Your knowledge and understanding of planning enforcement, coupled with proven experience working within this service area.



The client is flexible on rate and is looking at a rate between £188- £235 per day.
