In this role, you will provide professional advice, guidance, interpretation and evaluation on all aspects of Development Management to service users to meet statutory and service requirements.
You will lead on the consideration and negotiation of planning applications and provide a decision recommendation on each application within statutory time limits to facilitate the implementation of the Local Plan.
You must be working towards, or in possession of a qualification in Town Planning, or equivalent, and will be a student and/or licentiate member of the RTPI. Knowledge of the development management process, including relevant regulations and policy guidance together with knowledge of Conservation Area, Listed Building and Advertisement regulations and how these can be applied to the determination of planning applications, is essential for this post.
An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills, you will also be computer literate with knowledge of MS Office Suite together with an aptitude for using development management IT software. A commitment to excellent customer services and a flexible approach to work, together with the ability to work to very strict deadlines, are essential qualities for this role.
