It is a truly exciting time for Scottish sport and sportscotland. We have had a fantastic summer with Scots excelling on the world stage both at the Olympics and at a range of other world class events. This is however only the start as our focus moves to 2014 with both the Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games coming to Scotland.
Access to a quality network of places where people can take part in sport is a key element in the drive to increase participation and improve performance in Scottish sport. sportscotland aims to develop this network, through our advisory services and working with partners to invest Scottish Government and National Lottery funding, and you will have an important role in this process.
The post provides an advisory planning service on sports facilities. You will engage with the development plan process, providing sportscotland’s input to this and will ensure that the interests of sport are protected and improved through sportscotland’s role as a statutory consultee on planning applications affecting playing fields and other sports facilities.
You will work with sports, local authorities and other facility providers to plan strategically for sports facilities, through partnership working to develop sports facility and playing field strategies. You will inform the development of these through the use of our Facilities Planning Model.
