£47,145 – £51,737 per annum

Based Camberley, Surrey

Planning policy work is given a high priority within Surrey Heath Borough Council and is recognised as being essential to delivering a number of key Council priorities. As a result we have an excellent record in local plan making and have a current adopted Core Strategy and supporting policy documents.

We are now looking for a highly motivated person to play a key role in taking this work forward, with immediate priorities being regeneration of Camberley town centre, Community Infrastructure Levy, Special Protection Area mitigation, delivery of suitable development sites and an emerging Neighbourhood Plan for Deepcut, which is a strategic development site in our Core Strategy.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate strong commitment, be a polished communicator, be able to lead and manage effectively and be politically aware. In addition to planning policy work you will also manage an administrative team that supports the Development Management function and undertakes the local land charges function. Applicants will need to be Chartered Town Planners.

Closing date: Friday 26 October 2012.

Interview date: Friday 9 November 2012.
