£30,015 to £35,433 per annum
Rushmoor Borough covers the towns of Aldershot and Farnborough in north-east Hampshire. Aldershot is the “home of the British Army”, whilst Farnborough is world famous as the birthplace of British aviation.
Proposals for a significant new development of around 4,000 new homes are about to be submitted on surplus army land at Aldershot, and town centre regeneration schemes in Aldershot and Farnborough are making significant progress. The borough has excellent transport communications; it is close to the M3 motorway and is only 30 minutes from London by train.
We are looking for an enthusiastic policy planner to be a key member of our planning policy and conservation team. You will be expected to handle a challenging workload, whilst having the confidence and ability to progress your own areas of work whilst meeting tight deadlines.
You will need to have had experience in policy development through local development frameworks/local plans and you will need to have excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills. You will be able to work well as part of a small team whilst having the confidence and foresight to be able to influence the authority through corporate working.
The post provides the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of policy development matters including implementing our adopted Core Strategy and taking forward future development plan documents. In addition, you will be involved in the progression of a Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule and in regeneration proposals including residential led development at the Aldershot Urban Extension.
