We are looking for an enthusiastic and able planner to spend 1 year to help deliver the final stages of the South Somerset Local Plan. This is an opportunity for somebody who is interested in pursuing a career in planning policy to work alongside other officers and provide valuable support in delivering the key final stages of the South Somerset Local Plan. Ideally you will be qualified, have good knowledge of planning policy with Local Plan experience. You will be enthusiastic and show a positive attitude to delivery. Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a busy committed team.
General IT skills are required and the ability to work unsupervised and within different environments. A robust constitution, ability to handle the general public and plan objectors sympathetically and good time management skills are sought.
The successful candidate will be based within the Council’s Yeovil office. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle will be needed.
