Temporary Principal Planner
Starting salary up to £36,000, plus Essential User Car Allowance
Initial 6 month temporary contract for maternity cover.
Based at King’s Court Council Office
Working closely with the LDF Manager you will contribute to the management of the Planning Service and lead, supervise and assist a team dealing with all aspects of the Planning Policy. You will be the lead professional, advise on statutory requirements and play an active role in the preparation of the Local Plan.
As a full member of the RTPI you will have proven experience in planning policy and some experience at senior level. You will have the ability to analyse and interpret the built and rural environment and its planning policy requirements. Experience will include people and budget management skills and the ability to deal with fellow professional planners and other external parties. Although ideally we are looking for recruit to the Principal Planner level, Please apply if you are a graduate completing a recognised planning course, if you are a qualified planner and eligible to become a full member of the RTPI or if you are a senior planner who is a full member of the RTPI with 3 years post qualification experience, and your application will be considered if we fail to recruit to the
