Area Planning Officer (Development Control)
Part Time 18.5 hours per week – Permanent Contract
Salary Scale: GR09 scp 40-44 £33,661-£37,206 pro rata
dependant on qualifications and experience
Location: Great Malvern
We are looking to appoint an experienced planner and team leader to take a lead in implementing the Council’s progressive Development Team approach to dealing with major planning proposals and to support the Development Control Manager in the continuous improvement of a high performing service. As a qualified planner, you will have experience of delivering major applications on time and to a high standard, offering excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will deal with a wide range of both urban and rural planning issues in this attractive area of Worcestershire. You will be involved with all aspects of development control work and will take a lead role in the presentation of applications at Planning Committee.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, an appreciation of good design, the ability to negotiate planning obligations within tight deadlines, computer literacy and a commitment to supporting performance improvement are essential.
