Metropolitan is one of the most innovative and socially engaged housing, care and support organisations in the UK, delivering services to a customer base of over 80,000 people. With community regeneration at its heart, Metropolitan has a commitment to enhancing the quality of life and opportunities within the communities it serves in London, the Midlands and the East of England.

Over the last 18 months some significant organisational, governance and branding changes have enabled Metropolitan to strengthen the financial position of its business, refocus the way it works and improve customer service. As part of this overall change programme, a recent governance review has resulted in the decision to create a new committee structure to support the Board.

As a result, we are now seeking to appoint a number of Committee Members across a variety of disciplines. These posts are unremunerated and we would be seeking a time commitment of 1 day per month.

You will need to be a proven strategic leader with a track record gained within a significant organisation in either the not for profit or commercial sector. With the ability to build sustainable relationships with complex stakeholders, you will have exceptional vision, together with the commitment and focus to maintain and promote the highest levels of corporate governance and probity. Above all, you will demonstrate a genuine interest in working with Metropolitan and have a real passion for our work and the role we play in regenerating communities.
