Working as part of a small project team, the postholder will be expected to provide technical planning guidance to support the collection, administration and targeted use of developer contributions including the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).   

The post would suit candidates with a relevant degree and demonstrable experience in town planning and project management who can work effectively with a wide range of partners in the community. Excellent IT and GIS skills are required, together with qualities of accuracy, numeracy and reliability and an ability to organise and manage work effectively.  

Shropshire Council is a unitary authority at the forefront of the latest developments in planning and spatial policy. We have an adopted Core Strategy, an operational CIL framework and five Neighbourhood Plan frontrunners.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team delivering our new approach to managing development in Shropshire.
