Trafford is a thriving, prosperous and culturally vibrant Borough at the heart of the Manchester City region. It is celebrated as the enterprise capital of Manchester, hosts the largest industrial park in Europe and is a major driver of economic growth.

It is the home of internationally renowned cultural and sporting attractions and has been selected as a host Borough for the Olympic Football competition in July this year. But it also has areas of deprivation and faces the same financial pressures affecting local government and the wider public sector.

Trafford is a dynamic and forward-looking Borough with an exciting and challenging mix of commercial business, residential and industrial development schemes. We are forward thinking and innovative and continually looking to improve service delivery.

We need to ensure that Trafford is capitalising on its assets to improve business and employment opportunities across the whole Borough. In order to progress this further we have recently undertaken a fundamental review of our Economic Growth Team and now have a number of exciting vacancies available.

You will be an experienced manager who can demonstrate creativity and the ability to lead and contribute to the preparation of strategies, masterplans and policies to help transform Trafford’s priority economic and housing growth areas. You will have experience in economic and housing growth as well as strategic planning and will have successfully worked in partnership with external agencies on project delivery.

You will need to be dynamic, motivated and innovative and, above all, you will be as excited as we are about our vision for the future of Trafford.
