Full-time permanent position on completion of a 13 weeks probationary period.

CPRE fights for a better future for the English countryside. We work locally and nationally to protect, shape and enhance a beautiful, thriving countryside for everyone to value and enjoy. The Planning officer is the lead source of expertise on planning providing support and advises to our CPRE branches on a wide range of planning issues; for example You will have an understanding of the UK planning system gained from relevant work experience and/or relevant planning qualification as well as being comfortable working with voluntary groups. You will also be good at building a network of contacts and influencing others and be happy travelling extensively and attending meetings at evenings and weekends requiring working unsocial hours. There is a need for frequent travel across Lancashire to visit planned development sites and to meet with district groups, therefore the job holder will be required to have a ‘clean’ driving licence and three own car.
The job holder’s work will encompass a number of planning activities and issues, such as responding to up to 26 Lancashire districts core strategies, motorway link road projects, power line proposals, wind farm proposals and shale gas extraction issues
