You will work as part of a team that includes two planning officers and a Senior Enforcement Officer working under the Development Management Team Leader, who you would be expected to deputise for as necessary.
The role involves a caseload of major and complex planning applications, liaising with developers and applicants, conducting complex negotiations, regular reporting to Planning and Development Committee and the Conservation and Design Review Panel and supporting and mentoring the more junior members of the team as well as supporting the Senior Enforcement Officer.
You will be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, an experienced negotiator, MRTPI or eligible and have a willingness to put the performance of the team as their top priority alongside improving the built environment of Ipswich, county town of Suffolk.
