You would be required to assist in the production of the Local Development Framework and other strategic policy documents and areas of research.

The preparation, monitoring, review and implementation of the Local Development Framework, including the carrying out of Sustainability Appraisal, as well as other planning studies and guidelines for the control of development

Advise on the policy implications of major planning applications and, where required, provide expert evidence for planning appraisals, inquiries and informal hearings.

The planning, preparation and implementation of public consultation exercises in support of the Local Development Framework and other planning studies.

Play a leading role in commenting, on behalf of the Council, to consultation exercises on planning policy matters carried out by external agencies, including central government, the London Mayor and Greater London Authority, Thames Gateway London Partnership and statutory agencies.

Assist in the development of strategy to stimulate investment and improve the environment of one of the Borough’s town centres, including attendance at partnership meetings.

Develop and maintain databases on monitoring/survey information, consultation and project management processes and web pages related to the Local Development Framework.
