Job: Town Planner, Huntblue

Our multi-disciplinary client is currently looking to appoint an experienced Town Planner to join their environmental team in Leeds. Planning is a huge growth area for our clients’ northern teams and they require an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with excellent technical competence to compliment this dynamic team.

As a Planner for our client you will be required to provide a full range of planning services and undertake a varied workload.

Specific duties will include:

* Providing specialist in-house and external advice on planning matters. * Managing major planning applications through the preparation, submisson and negotiation stages. * Preparation and presentation of statements at planning hearings or inquiries. * Preparation of planning briefs. * Client liaison during projects.

Candidates should have a proven track record in Town Planning and must hold a relevant degree and masters degree that is RTPI accredited. Experience of working within a planning team in either the private or public sectors is essential.

In addition candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

* Good interpersonal skills together with a positive “can do” attitude. * Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. * Ability to manage a demanding workload. * Ability to work under minimal supervision.v * A thorough understanding of the planning system. * Commercial awareness.
