Waverley Borough Council officesWaverley Borough Council is beefing up its planning policy team as it gears up for the next stage of its local plan preparation process.

The council is seeking two new senior policy officers on two-year contracts to focus on delivering part two of the plan.

The document will contain day-to-day development management policies, together with non-strategic allocations of land.

A statement from the council said that the roles would also involve helping prepare neighbourhood plans with local communities and developing local greenspace designations.

The Waverley Borough Local Plan Part One: Strategic Policies and Sites was submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on 21 December last year for independent examination.

The council is currently undertaking early consultation on part two, with a draft set to be published by September this year.

A final version will be consulted on from April 2018, with adoption expected by March 2019.
