Specialist housebuilder Churchill Retirement Living has appointed Andrew Burgess in the newly created role of group land and planning director.

According to a statement from the firm, the new position will run alongside Burgess’ current role as managing director of Planning Issues Ltd, Churchill’s in-house planning and design consultancy, which he has held for over 10 years.

Burgess will spearhead a £500 million national land buying campaign over the next five years, the firm said.

Spencer McCarthy, chairman and CEO of Churchill Retirement Living, said: “Andrew’s experience and knowledge of the land requirements at Churchill Retirement Living make him the ideal person to take on this new role.

“He will ensure that we have a consistent, proactive and integrated approach to land buying, and I look forward to working closely with him to deliver this and achieve our growth plans.”
