Sheffield City Council has appointed Derbyshire County Council’s head of planning, Rob Murfin (pictured), as its new planning chief, replacing interim head, Flo Churchill.

Murfin will take over from Churchill on 9 May.

Churchill moves to become executive head of planning and housing at New Forest District Council. She will start on 22 May.

She replaces Chris Elliott, who is retiring after more than 40 years at the council.

Churchill said that she was “tremendously” excited about starting the “very special” new job.
