Sheffield town hallSheffield City Council is seeking to expand its planning team to hone its IT systems in development management.

The council's planning team leader Lucy Bond told Planning: “Development management has workflow systems that have helped deliver efficiency savings and service improvements.”

“We want to expand to improve our efficiency, performance and customer service by recruiting a planner with IT skills.

“We want a planner because they will have a better understanding of how planners work and what they need. The new postholder will also handle a caseload of applications.”

The council is looking to recruit a planning officer for business systems to expand its development management team that currently numbers 60 staff.

Bond said: “The qualified planning officer should be able to administer and improve IT applications and business processes that support development management.”
