town hallRotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is creating a new assistant planning post to help it strengthen its policy team.

Planning policy manager Andy Duncan told Planning: “We are creating a new post in policy because we want new perspectives and someone to bring in fresh ideas.

“The new assistant planner will add to our policy team, which currently numbers five planners, helping to prepare and review our local plan and advise on strategic planning issues.”

Other jobs will include preparing reports and policy documentation, representing the council at appeals, hearings and public enquiries, and liaising with other authorities, parishes and developers.
