Consultancy Pegasus Planning Group has launched a new urban design team to complement the other services provided by its Leeds office.

The team is to be led by director Chris Hunter, formerly design manager at house builder Persimmon, who joined Pegasus last month.

Speaking to Planning, Hunter said that the launch of the new team in Leeds brings the office in line with Pegasus’ other seven regional centres.

“Historically, Pegasus’ Leeds office has been a planning and landscape architecture consultancy. However, all the other offices in the country have had urban design consultancies as well.

“The idea is to have all the services under one roof. So we bring in the urban design side and work on a project through to planning application, work with the planners in house and then if necessary work with the landscape architects in house as well.”

Pegasus Planning Group currently employs around 50 chartered town planners and has an annual planning fee income of about £14m.
