Ailsa BerryA national park authority (NPA) has expanded its planning team by recruiting a part-time planning assistant.

Ailsa Berry joined Peak District NPA from Cheshire East Council to help raise the profile of planning and development management. She will focus on the northern part of the park area.

“One of the key issues for the authority is affordable housing,” she told Planning.

“Residential planning applications need to have affordable housing to meet local needs.”

The Peak District was the first of Britain’s 15 national parks, founded in 1951, and covers 1,438 sq km across Derbyshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
