Growing workloads have prompted a consultancy to expand its planning capacity to focus on more commercial work.

CBRE has recruited Chris Argent from GVA to work as planning director at its Manchester office.

He advises on foodstore, retail and leisure developments and mixed-use commercial schemes.

“This is a significant investment to expand the strategic planning capability regionally and is complementary to investment in other areas such as development,” he told Planning.

“It also represents a really multidisciplinary proposition with a strong orientation towards the commercial sector.

“We have a very good client base, from large corporations to regional developers, and can offer a cradle-to-the-grave service.”
